The overall goal of the Geneva Health Forum is to promote innovative practices that improve care access, especially in resource-poor settings.
To achieve this goal, the Geneva Health Forum aims to:
- give visibility to innovative field experiences;
- establish a critical and constructive dialogue and promote collaborations between global health actors from different sectors including practitioners, academics, policy makers, civil society and the private sector;

Digital technology is changing economies and societies at warp speed and scale. For people connected to the internet, the vast array of digital goods and services available to them could greatly improve—and potentially even save—countless lives. Access to these digital public goods, and the ability to utilize them, should be available to everyone in the world regardless of location, race, gender, religion, or socioeconomic standing.

We believe medical images should be flowing freely. Our aim is for clinical teams to be able to fully benefit from innovation that is out there and currently difficult to access. To achieve that goal, we use open source software and build innovative collaboration tools for medical imaging.
Osimis is commited to provide Orthanc users with professional support.

OrthancCon 2019 will be the first edition of the international conference about Orthanc, and will explore the field of free, libre and open-source software for medical imaging. The conference will take place in December 2019 in Liège (Belgium), the city where Orthanc was born. This will be the ideal place to meet the whole community of users and developers of Orthanc!

The Libre/Free and Open Source Working Group (LIFOSS WG) of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) will host a tutorial at the Medical Informatics Europe 2018 (MIE2018) conference in Gothenburg, Sweden.

A recent study of more than 1,000 commercial software applications found that open source components comprised 46% of the code in commercial applications for healthcare-related industries. But with innovation comes risk. The same research uncovered high-risk open source security vulnerabilities in 47% of the healthcare applications studied.
