jlpv is a Java Light PACS Viewer application useful for review series or images from DICOM data retrieved from the DCM4CHEE PACS system. It also uses ImageJ as a rendering engine or viewer. This project is in a early stage.

There is a Proteus Intelligent Processes (PIP) Project Wiki available for the developers of the PIP open source project and others who are interested in learning more about Proteus. Proteus is composed of two sub-projects: Protean (Clinical Workflow Authoring Tool) and GreEd (Rule Authoring Tool).

tinyHeb is a billing software for midwives in Germany to do the legal accounting with the health insurance companies in Germany. tinyHeb runs under Linux and Windows operating systems. It enables the midwives to produce paper and electronic bills, and meets the legal requirements of §301a, §302 SGB V, resp. The tariff structure introduced in 2007 is no problem at all.

FreeSHIM

FreeSHIM is an opensource electronic medical device interface, which aims to allow any EMR/PM system to talk to any medical device attached to a workstation without having to install tons of pesky drivers or “reinvent the wheel” for each additional device manufacturer.

It is written in Java, and has been tested on Linux and Windows workstations (though we’re pretty sure it also runs fine on Mac OS X as well), and exposes both SOAP and REST interfaces. Its only prerequisite is a running J2EE container, such as Apache Tomcat.

iRad

Rad is a DICOM workstation written in Cocoa for MacOSX. Using QuickTime, OpenGL, and open source databases iRad aims to provide an easy and efficient way to review medical images from CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other DICOM sources such as angiography.

DicomBrowser

DicomBrowser is an application for inspecting and modifying DICOM metadata in many files at once. A single imaging session can produce thousands of DICOM files; DicomBrowser allows users to view and edit a whole session—or even multiple sessions—at once. Users can save the original or modified files to disk, or send them across a network to a DICOM C-STORE service class provider, such as a PACS or an XNAT.
