The Epi package is mainly focused on "classical" chronic disease epidemiology. The package has grown out of the course Statistical Practice in Epidemiology using R.

MRmap

MRmap is a flexible software tool that enables T1, T2, and T2* mapping from source images of multiple types of pulse sequences (IR-prepared multi-image T1 mapping, Look-Locker/ TOMROP T1 mapping, MOLLI T1 mapping; single- and multi-echo T2/ T2* mapping).

MRmap is a pure research tool and is not intended for any diagnostic or clinical use.

Brainstorm

Brainstorm is a collaborative open-source Matlab application dedicated to magnetoencephalography (MEG) and electroencephalography(EEG) data visualization, processing and cortical source estimation.
The intention is to make a comprehensive set of tools available to the scientific community involved in MEG/EEG experimental research.
For physicians and researchers, the interest of this software package resides in its rich and intuitive graphic interface, which does not require any programming knowledge.

Indivo

Indivo is the original personally controlled health record (PCHR) system. A PCHR enables an individual to own and manage a complete, secure, digital copy of her health and wellness information. Indivo integrates health information across sites of care and over time. Indivo is free and open-source, uses open, unencumbered standards, and is actively deployed in diverse settings, in particular our own Children's Hospital Boston and the Dossia Consortium.

The 'epibasix' R Package

This package contains elementary tools for analysis of common epidemiological problems, ranging from sample size estimation, through 2x2 contingency table analysis and basic measures of agreement (kappa, sensitivity/specificity).

Appropriate print and summary statements are also written to facilitate interpretation wherever possible.

This package is a work in progress, so any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Source code is commented throughout to facilitate modification. The target audience includes graduate students in various epi/biostatistics courses.

The HL7 Inspector is a useful hl7 tool for integration the HL7 in a health care environmental. It will help you to minimize the time for tuning the HL7 communication between systems such as HIS and RIS by analyzing and validating HL7 messages.

Datasets from Dbase (.dbf), Stata (.dta), SPSS(.sav), EpiInfo(.rec) and Comma separated value (.csv) formats as well as R data frames can be processed to do make several epidemiological calculations.

Xphile is a free, open source radiology teaching library system for Mac OS X. The project is an effort to create an easily accessed local solution for storing and categorising radiology images and descriptions. Xphile requires a minimum of Mac OS X 10.4.

The 'epiR' R Package

A package for analysing epidemiological data. Contains functions for directly and indirectly adjusting measures of disease frequency, quantifying measures of association on the basis of single or multiple strata of count data presented in a contingency table, and computing confidence intervals around incidence risk and incidence rate estimates. Miscellaneous functions for use in meta-analysis, diagnostic test interpretation, and sample size calculations.

It includes nearly 50,000 medical terms ranging from abdominis to zygomatic, which allows you to concentrate on your work instead of looking up words in a medical dictionary that are not in a standard USA English spelling dictionary.
