STIR is Open Source software for use in tomographic imaging. Its aim is to provide a Multi-Platform Object-Oriented framework for all data manipulations in tomographic imaging. Currently, the emphasis is on (iterative) image reconstruction in PET, but other application areas and imaging modalities can and might be added.

STIR is the successor of the PARAPET software library which was the result of a (European Union funded) collaboration between 6 different partners (see Credits).

PyEPL (the Python Experiment-Programming Library) is a library for coding psychology experiments in Python. It supports presentation of both visual and auditory stimuli, and supports both manual (keyboard/joystick) and sound (microphone) input as responses.

Utilities for Patient Data Exchange. A parser for text files to use with some of the utilities provided by the DCMTK from Offis. The purpose is to provide a basic DICOM Modality Worklist Management SCP.

Proteus

Proteus is a software technology that allows creating clinical executable decision support guidelines with little effort. There is a Proteus Intelligent Processes (PIP) Project Wiki available for the developers of the PIP open source project and others who are interested in learning more about Proteus. Proteus is composed of two sub-projects: Protean (Clinical Workflow Authoring Tool) and GreEd (Rule Authoring Tool).

The 'DiagnosisMed' R Package

DiagnosisMed is a package to analyze data from diagnostic test accuracy evaluating health conditions. It is being built to be used by health professionals. This package is able to estimate sensitivity and specificity from categorical and continuous test results including some evaluations of indeterminate results, or compare different categorical tests, and estimate reasonble cut-offs of tests and display it in a way commonly used by health professionals. No graphical interface is avalible yet. Partners are most welcome.

FreeDiams

FreeDiams prescriber is the result of FreeMedForms prescriber plugins built into a standalone application. FreeDiams is a multi-platform (MacOS, Linux, FreeBSD, Windows), free and open source.

It is developed by medical doctors and is intended for use by these same professionals. It can be used alone to prescribe and / or test drug interactions within a prescription. It can be linked to any application thanks to its command line parameters. Available drugs databases : USA (FDA), Canadian (HCDPD), French (AFSSAPS), South African (SAEPI).

CASE

The main goal of the Computer Assisted Search for Epidemics (CASE) project is to develop a reliable system that generates warnings when the number of reported cases of a particular infectious disease reaches a level that indicates an unusual or unexpected rate. The system is currently in use at the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control (SMI). It performs daily surveillance using data obtained from the database to which all notifiable diseases are reported in Sweden.

UBY DICOM is a cross-platform library for handling DICOM files and network communication in the Ruby language. DICOM is a standard that is widely used throughout the world for saving and transmitting image data used in medicine. The library supports reading, editing and writing files as well as querying, retrieving and sending files.

The R Project for Statistical Computing

R is a language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. It is a GNU project which is similar to the S language and environment which was developed at Bell Laboratories (formerly AT&T, now Lucent Technologies) by John Chambers and colleagues. R can be considered as a different implementation of S. There are some important differences, but much code written for S runs unaltered under R."

Chiapas

Chiapas is an enterprise level HIPAA data translation package. It supports all major healthcare transactions and a variety of SQL databases and file types, and incorporates a script parser and a GUI studio for development and maintaining specifications.
