In the last 20 years, researchers have investigated solutions to enable seamless access to online resources within the context of electronic health record (EHR) systems. “Infobuttons” are among these solutions. Based on contextual attributes that describe the EHR user, the patient, and the care setting, infobuttons anticipate clinicians’ information needs and provide automated links to a set of relevant knowledge resources to assist clinical decision support.

OpenTele collects clinical health data from citizens at home. Clinicians review data through a web-portal, and take actions upon data, that are beyond the individual’s allowable data boundaries. The system is aimed at increasing the direct involvement of patients and citizens in taking charge of their health, independent of geographical distances between patient and clinicians.

ART-DECOR is an open-source tool suite that supports the creation and maintenance of HL7 Templates, Value Sets as well as Data Sets and features cloud-based federated Building Block Repositories (BBR) for Templates and Value Sets. The tool offers a Data Set and a Scenario editor, two Template editors, a Value Set editor and includes browsers for various international terminologies such as LOINC.

OSEHRA VistA is a set of software components designed to support open source EHR solutions based upon the award-winning VistA EHR developed by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. OSEHRA VistA is not intended as a complete EHR solution, but as a baseline of open source community code that will strengthen all VistA-based EHR implementations and accelerate community innovation. OSEHRA VistA consists of FOIA VistA, with redacted code replaced to ensure functionality, plus added innovations and established, OSEHRA-certified software from the community.
