InVesalius is a free medical software used to reconstruct structures of the human body. Based on two-dimensional images, acquired using Computed tomography or Magnetic resonance imaging equipments, the software generates virtual three-dimensional models correspondent to anatomical parts of the human body. After reconstructing three-dimensionally DICOM images, the software allows the generation of STL (stereolithography) files. These files can be used for Rapid Prototyping.

"Command line utilities for creating, modifying, dumping and validating files of DICOM attributes, and conversion of proprietary image formats to DICOM. Can handle older ACR/NEMA format data, and some proprietary versions of that such as SPI."
DataViewer3D (DV3D) is a multi-modal imaging data visualization tool offering a cross-platform, open-source solution to simultaneous data overlay visualization requirements of imaging studies.
DVTk is an open source project for testing, validating and diagnosing communication protocols and scenario's in medical environments. It supports DICOM, HL7 and IHE integration profiles. The applications from the DVTk Project are must haves for software developers, test engineers and service engineers that work in the healthcare domain. The DVTk project can save you time in your daily work and bring products and services to a higher quality level.
The MedicalExplorationToolkit (METK) was designed for loading, visualizing and exploring segmented medical data sets. It is a framework of several modules in MeVisLab, a development environment for medical image processing and visualization.
- Case Management: Load and save whole cases of segmented structures e.g. for surgery planning, educational training or intra operative visualization.
- Basic Visualization in 2D and 3D: Visualize segmented structures in multiple manner e.g. iso surface rendering, stippling, hatching, silhouettes, volume rendering, 2d overlays.
Grassroots DICOM (GDCM) is an implementation of the DICOM standard designed to be open source so that researchers may access clinical data directly. GDCM includes a file format definition and a network communications protocol, both of which should be extended to provide a full set of tools for a researcher or small medical imaging vendor to interface with an existing medical database.
DICOM# open source project is intented to provide an OO class library for DICOM communication and will be developed purely by C# and running in .NET environment. DICOM# partially rewrites dcm4che open source project in C#.
Utilities for Patient Data Exchange. A parser for text files to use with some of the utilities provided by the DCMTK from Offis. The purpose is to provide a basic DICOM Modality Worklist Management SCP.
3D medical image platform for visualization and image processing. Segmentation with Levels sets. Surface reconstruction with marching Cubes, texture Mapping and Raycasting, DICOM support.
C# ECG Toolkit is an open source software toolkit to convert, view and print electrocardiograms. The toolkit is developed using C# .NET 1.1 & 2.0. Support for ECG formats: SCP-ECG, DICOM and HL7 aECG.
