The Open Health Assistant platform provides a set of remote social-healthcare service solutions that are personalized for patients who require some type of personalized monitoring or help, both at and away from the home.
Open Health Assistant helps in the daily lives of people with chronic care needs, such as assisted living for elderly or dependent persons, facilitating mobile assistance services that cut down on visits to hospitals and doctor house calls, as well as assistance provided by emergency services, minimizing travel and the cost of public healthcare services.

pydicom

pydicom is a pure python package for working with DICOM files. It was made for inspecting and modifying DICOM data in an easy "pythonic" way. The modifications can be written again to a new file. As a pure python package, it should run anywhere python runs without any other requirements.

pydicom is not a DICOM server, and is not primarily about viewing images. It is designed to let you manipulate data elements in DICOM files with python code.

Niftilib

Niftilib is a set of i/o libraries for reading and writing files in the nifti-1 data format. nifti-1 is a binary file format for storing medical image data, e.g. magnetic resonance image (MRI) and functional MRI (fMRI) brain images.

Niftilib currently has C, Java, MATLAB, and Python libraries; we plan to add some MATLAB/mex interfaces to the C library in the not too distant future.

RT_Image

RT_Image is an application developed in the Department of Radiation Oncology and MIPS at Stanford University. Coded in the Interactive Data Language (IDL, ITT Visual Information Solutions), RT_Image was originally designed in 2003 to generate radiotherapy target volumes from positron emission tomography (PET) datasets. It has since evolved to embody a variety of tools for visualizing, quantitating, and segmenting three-dimensional images.

Medical Exploration Toolkit (METK)

The MedicalExplorationToolkit (METK) was designed for loading, visualizing and exploring segmented medical data sets. It is a framework of several modules in MeVisLab, a development environment for medical image processing and visualization.

  • Case Management: Load and save whole cases of segmented structures e.g. for surgery planning, educational training or intra operative visualization.
  • Basic Visualization in 2D and 3D: Visualize segmented structures in multiple manner e.g. iso surface rendering, stippling, hatching, silhouettes, volume rendering, 2d overlays.

Epigrass

Epigrass was developed as a scientific project, by the founders of Metamodellers at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. Currently, Metamodellers is the main maintainer of the code, ensuring its continuous improvement while remaining a completely free tool.
