The CYTOMINE project (started in 2010) is continuously developing a rich internet application using modern web technologies, databases, and machine learning to foster active and distributed collaboration and ease large-scale image exploitation. Our software is e.g. being used by life scientists to help them better evaluate drug treatments or understand biological processes directly from whole-slide tissue images, by pathologists to share and ease their diagnosis, and by teachers and students for pathology training purposes.

DataPall Palliative Care EMR

DataPall is a free software system specifically designed to assist palliative care providers in record keeping, data management, and reporting. It is especially tailored to programs in low-resource settings. Rice 360 interns in Malawi developed DataPall, an electronic medical records system tailored to the needs of palliative care providers in the region. DataPall offers a user-friendly interface that allows health workers to accurately and efficiently input appointment records. The program allows for individual patient tracking and aggregate data management.

"DataServer is an open source XML gateway, specially tailored for the medical domain. DataServer is middleware, situated between clients and traditional Health Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archive and Communication Systems (PACS). It supports relational (SQL), SOAP, and HTTP data sources out of the box, but is highly extensible for custom types."

Dcm4che

dcm4che is a collection of open source applications and utilities for the healthcare enterprise. These applications have been developed in the Java programming language for performance and portability, supporting deployment on JDK 1.4 and up.

At the core of the dcm4che project is a robust implementation of the DICOM standard. The dcm4che-1.x DICOM toolkit is used in many production applications across the world, while the current (2.x) version of the toolkit has been re-architected for high performance and flexibility.

Turyon DCM4CHEE Lite Viewer allows us to work or download DICOM images stored on the DCM4CHEE PACS.
Main features are: 2D, MPR and 3D Volume Reconstruction (VR).
Plug-in architecture.
Users can download all or authorized only DICOM images on a remote or local DCM4CHEE PACS.
This viewer can send a DICOM Structured Report (SR) to the PACS.
Cross-platform. Made in Java.

DCMTK - DICOM Toolkit

DCMTK is a collection of libraries and applications implementing large parts the DICOM standard. It includes software for examining, constructing and converting DICOM image files, handling offline media, sending and receiving images over a network connection, as well as demonstrative image storage and worklist servers. DCMTK is is written in a mixture of ANSI C and C++.

DeVIDE

DeVIDE, or the Delft Visualisation and Image processing Development Environment, is a cross-platform software framework for the rapid prototyping, testing and deployment of visualisation and image processing algorithms. The software was developed within the Visualisation group. DeVIDE's primary (and currently only) front-end is a data-flow boxes-and-lines network editor. In this regard, it is very similar to AVS, OpenDX, Khoros or VISSION. DeVIDE integrates functionality from libraries such as VTK, ITK, GDCM, DCMTK, numpy and matplotlib. It is being very actively developed.
